“What motivates you? What drives you to create? What obligation do you have when you put the tip of a pencil on a piece of paper? What is going through your mind? Concepts. Ideas. Stories. Something funny. Something sad. Something sexy. What should it be?
When you draw, who is it for? Do you draw for yourself or for someone else? Do you draw for your own pleasure, or for another?
When you draw, who are you? Who do you think you are when you create? Do you have a name you call yourself when you create? Do you feel a sense of power? A sense of responsibility? A sense of purpose? Who are you?
When you place the pencil tip on the canvas, you are planting a seed in the vast white soil you call paper. With every line you trace with your pencil, a root grows and a bud arises. You have no idea what kind of flower you planted. You’re just watching it grow - molding and changing it with every curved and straight line you draw. It’s starting to come to bloom. You see the pedals start to open up before you as you now ink and color your image. You witness as it changes colors, hue after hue as you continue to add layers of color and detail to it. You are creating your flower, adding that to your garden of art.
At the end, do you feel connected to your flower? Is it what you wanted? Do you keep it in the ground or pluck it and throw it away? Did you create it for someone else? Would they like it or hate it? Would it attract attention to your garden?

I am Andrea. I have a purpose to draw. It helps me feel safe, calm and relaxed. When i draw i think of all my feelings. When i draw im in my world. In my happy place. No one is aloud to go there except God. Now i mostly draw to the great Lord cause im trying to fill my heart with something. When i finish the drawing i gaze at it and i think to myself "this is you. This is how you feel. And if i get lucky some one would finally recognize me". It makes me feel like someone is finally with me. I know that the Lord is with me at all time and at all places but i sometimes feel like he is int there. In fact, i was just thinking about that a couple of minutes ago. After praying to God i looked at the sky and said "why do i feel so alone?". And when i draw its just like a dream. And what i draw it stays on my heart forever. And sometimes i use it to tell someone something or just go on and dream. Thats why i draw.
