Another Pokemon Obliteration image, this time with Charmander and Squirtle. This one was fun to do. I wanted to show the relationship between Charmander and Squirtle since I changed the way they looked.
Charmander: I wanted to make him more aggressive, more head strong. Even though he is surrounded by water and battling a water-based pokemon, he is not giving up and is filled with burning rage. Squirtle: he is somewhat the opposite from Charmander. He is quick on his feet and quick minded. He flows with the water he creates and uses his opponents flaws to take advantage over them. In my idea, I wanted to make Squirtle more of a magical creature. Not only can he create water out of no where, but he can also control it with motions of his hands and mind instead of shooting it out of his mouth. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. Although, something about charmander's design doesn't quite work for me. He looks a bit too. . .human, I guess. I would've made him look more dragonlike.
Squirtle's design is pretty much spot-on, though.
