A Triptych of Tinkafur by o-kemono
A Triptych of Tinkafur
A large commission I did for TinkaFur on FA of three images based on his poem. Each image was done on 11x14 Bristol with .5 ink pen and sharpie, so of course it took some time XD. The images were put together in Photoshop. It was a challenge to have a bright rainbow character in depressed settings and not clash with the background colors. But I think I pulled it off

Tinkafox's poem:

Lost Fox!
Description: Rainbow-tail, open heart
Seen carrying a flame of love
up the misty mountains
~ Someone left missing him

A fox
on a rock
cold and hard
alone, shivering
paws and heart freezing
endure up the mountain
can he no longer

Promised one day
to search out its peak
and wrapped for the journey
a hopeful heart
blazing with love
tucked inside his fluffy tail

Now the fox is at an end
fear and sadness lurks after
faith and hope
lost in the maze of ways
blocked by distrust

Was anyone left missing him?
he wonders.
And without fuel
the flame of love
turns to embers.

A desperate howl
the mountain suffocates

With empty paws
drenched in tears
streaming down the path
Dripping with rain
a flaming heart extinguished
feeling nothing but pain.

Now turning back he must
from the mountain
never reached
I failed to find
the one I loved.

Life's A Chibi: Jealousy over Ability by o-kemono
Life's A Chibi: Jealousy over Ability
Ever watched someone pull off amazing feats that you thought it was humanly impossible? Ever witnessed impossible acts that leave you breathless and amazed? Ever gazed at something that you thought it was impossible for any human being to create out of nothing? Deep down, do you wish you could do something like what you just witnessed - the need to be just as good as the talented person, or sometimes even better? Do you compare your skills to theirs and feel like you are not talented at all? Do you feel envious over something that you can't do to save your life?

I wanted to do an image about this for some time now but I didn't want it to be just about artist, but about other unique talents and trades. Now and then, I would watch some interesting videos online of people doing amazing stunts, pulling off astounding tricks and creating works of art that takes one's breath away. I would watch them repeatedly, just to see how it's possible for someone to be so amazing at what they do. I start to question my own abilities and feel rather small compared to what I've just witnessed; comparing myself to them and what they can do. This also goes with artwork too. No artist is the same. Everyone has a different style and a different method to do a piece of artwork. Some are simple and laid back, others are more intense and interknit, leaving you questioning how is it physically possible to create something so amazing.

You start to feel like your talents are inadequate. You start to feel down about yourself and question your own self worth. What makes you so special compared to other people? Why can't you be as talented or creative as the ones you admire? What are they doing differently? What are you doing wrong? Will you ever be able to do something like what you just witnessed? The more you ask yourself these questions, the more you feel down about your own talents and your self-esteem plummets.

The hard part is to constantly remind yourself that your own skills are unique. Yes, there are people out there who can do better than you. They can do something you do with quicker speed and talent. But you need to remember that they were taught differently. They had different study habits and skills that you were never taught or experienced. They used different tools and methods that were unavailable to you or something you can't physically perform. However, the way that you were taught and create and personal talent is unique in itself. You can do actions and have personal skills no one else can copy or be as good as. They may try to copy it or try to pull it off, but only you hold the crown for having a unique ability. It's the small things you do that make your ability and talents unique. It may not look impressive or flashy as the next, but it's your own and it's unique. I constantly have to remind myself, that as much as I want to be as good as this artist or that artist, my own personal style and talent is unique and I'm good at certain things I know others have a hard time trying to do or pull off. It's what makes me a unique artist and person as well.

You have your own voice, your own style, your own talents, and your own strengths. You may be jealous of someone's work or talents, but there will always be people out there who will be jealous over certain things that you can do. It might be someone that you are jealous over as well. You may feel like your own talent and abilities are not important or a waste, but others will think the complete opposite and say what you can do is amazing.

For everyone who is/has/was watching me, you can see that I don't post that much on DA anymore. I mostly use FA and Weasyl for my furry art now.

DeviantArt, for the past month to a year, have been giving me a bit of issues. It was never this complicated when I first started 10 years ago. ( Can't believe its really been 10 years since I first used this site 0.0 ) A lot of things have been updated, almost too much. There are ads everywhere and blockers as well. They really due screw you if you are not a member. It's coming to a point where they are even advertising datelines and "kinky" links here and there. They have windows that basically overshadows your work and tells you to visit other artists that are "better" than you.

Its not just that, but even the groups here. I have been kicked out from so many furry groups on here because:

- Their submission instructions are not clear/broken.
- Even following the rules, I still get rejected from bias members/staff
- They dont like my art style and subject
- Drama

I only have a few that I send now that has had no issues with my work and some want me to become a contributor. Flattering but you can only be a contributor for 3 groups at a time.

Not just that, but even other people on DeviantArt. I've gotten a lot of drama llamas and trolls that voiced their "right opinion" on a piece and threatened/harassed me, the artist. I've encountered way too many trolls here on DA and DaOp doesn't really do anything about it whatsoever. I've reported a few people here and there, but sometimes they can't do anything and just tell you to "ignore" them, even if they harass other people on DA. What is going on??

I'm still uploading what artwork is along the guidelines of DA, but I have been going through an "all adult art" faze and I can't upload it on DA. LOL.

I'm still alive, but not fully active. I check in now and then for notes and other things, but that is really about it. For anyone who wants to keep in touch with me, visit me on FurAffinity ( o-kemono ). I find that the furry fandom there is more open and respectful than here ( In My Opinion ).

I will say this though: During my 10 years here on DA, I have met some very awesome people and fans who ( and hopefully ) continue to support me and give me great motivation to continue to draw and create. I hope you guys will continue to also watch my artwork and cheer me on.
